More magic moments

It's still day 2 of our safari, and the magic moments keep coming. I need to look at the photos from Serengeti again and again ...

Velvet monkey - mother and baby.

After leaving the hunting lions, we got to see a lot more different animals.

Some more hippos ...

..  and vultures ...

.. taking over the meal that some cheetas started on.

We also passed another flock of elephants ...

Such powerful animals!

Do you see the male lion under the tree? And the baby lion lying in the tree?

Good camouflage ...

The velvet monkeys are qute :)

Not so easy to see them in trees like this.

The baboons are fascinating ...

A mother giving the baby a ride ;)

A baby baboon looking for food ...

A meerkat hiding in the grass.

And a lion hiding in the grass (to the right), waiting for the antelope to come closer ...

.. the antelope is getting closer ...

Suddenly the antelope stops and stands like frozen ... the lion is still waiting patiently, hidden in the grass. They were like this for a long time, and we had to move on, so we don't know if the lion got her meal ...

There were some other cars around ...

.. and in the middle of Serengeti there also was a place were we could leave the car, stretch our legs, go to the toilette ...

.. and relax in the shadow.

After the little break, Stewart drove further and found this tree with a sleeping le0pard. He could tell us that this was a male leopard because of the way he was lying with his back feet. A female would lay on the branch with one back foot on each side.

Not easy to see the leopard if you don't know it's there ...
